Holly has been an active music educator teaching private voice lessons at the Conservatory of Central Illinois since 2007. She studied private voice with Diana Spradling, Sunny Wilkinson, Steve Zegree, Sheila Jordan and Barrington Coleman and improvisation with Michele Weir, Phil Mattson, Trent Kynaston, Chip McNeill and Tito Carillo. Holly encourages healthy singing for all ages and for all styles, whether classical, musical theater, jazz, funk or pop. Her methodology is rooted in recognizing healthy sensation physically and linking it with healthy sound aurally.
As a scholar, Holly has taught classes in Western art music and world music at the undergraduate level. Her teaching philosophy stresses a partnership between students and teacher and an interactive environment in which critical listening and thinking skills are encouraged in order to explore music as a part of cultural life.
